As I write about Windows Phone application development, some of the most popular and innovative apps for phones are coming to the marketplace every month or so. Many new developers are starting to explore this platform because it is much more affordable than the larger counterparts like iPhone and Android. You can download the software, test it out in the store, and then purchase the device later if you want to upgrade or change your mind. I have recently been testing some of the best apps on this new platform, and am very happy with them.
One great Windows Phone application that I have been enjoying is called Flipboard. The Flipboard app is extremely easy to use and provides a quick overview of all the most popular websites across the web. For example, if I want to find out what the New York Times has to offer me, I simply tap the search icon and instantly get access to my favorite newspapers, blogs, and other information. This application really makes it easy for me to stay up-to-date on the go! I also love that the Flipboard interface is simple and smooth, allowing me to tap the screen for various functions like adding a new blog post, as well as pinch-zooming my way around the pages.
Another amazing Windows Phone app for desktop is called Evernote Mobile. Evernote has millions of items, which is perfect for a traveler or someone who takes numerous pictures or videos. This amazing Windows app allows me to download pictures from my smartphone and then view them on the device, or even email them to my colleagues! With so many great features available, I am amazed that there is still such a low cost Windows Phone app for desktop.
